Weekly Wrap 27th May 2018

As you can see we had a busyier week then usual then we normally do with Matt getting up a total of 4 post and Kieran a total of 3.

We started of the week with Matt’s review on deadpool-2-and-new-deadpool-app Deadpool 2 and with the new Deadpool apps we have launched. Our next post of the week was Kieran’s question of your hero growing up and him telling you about his you-hero-growing-up.

The next post was Matt talking about his  current frustration- and how it may-just-motivate-you

We then go to our third blast from the past with Matt talking about his ferrari-museum-visit-blast-from-the-past Ferrari Museum trip. The Next post video-of-the-week was Kieran talking about his new weekly post called video of the week and the first video of the week was the Dude perfects newest post of them doing giant dart battles.

The last couple of posts for the week were Matt talking about 5-things-you-need-to-get-through-a-bad-day-at-work and Kieran talking about 5-top-event-every-motor-racing-fan-must-visit

That’s the weekly wrap

Until next time

Weekly Wrap 20th May 2018

Well its been a frustrating week for me, as mentioned in my footy comeback post I strained my hamstring in week 2 of my comeback. As a result everytime I move my leg I can feel the muscle pulling, daily tasks as simple as walking bending reaching up high or to the side have caused discomfort. For the first few nights everytime I moved in my sleep I would wake and even sitting here now typing I can feel the muscle almost pulsating.

Our next post of the week was Kieran’s, question about what is you favourite sport and sharing his favourite sport. From there we move to one of the worlds most amazing natural waterfalls with this weeks blast from the past Niagara Falls. If you have not already done so check out the video and listen to the noise that the falls generate.

Our final post of the week was Kieran sharing his Batman wish list with everyone, if your a fan of the Dark Night check this post out as there are some really cool stuff on the list.

As you can see its been another quiet week content wise, but we have been busy working on other things such as some new apps which should go live in the Playstore today.

Once confirmed these new apps are live we will share them with you and also give you abit of background why we choose to build those apps.

That the weekly wrap

Cheers

Matt

Weekly Wrap 13 May 2018

Well another week has passed and we have had a pretty good week in they way of content here on Mates Madness. The week started with Kieran discussing his favourite movies where he shared one of the benefits of watching a movie more than once and also asked some good questions such as do you have a sick/feeling down movie. For me this is a selection of movies especially when I was a kid, the movies were Top Gun, who didn’t grow up wanting to be MaverickBloodsportJean Claude Van Damme really kicks arse in the Kumite. Hard to Kill where Steven Seagal just won’t die (and you can take that to the bank) watch the movie you will get the reference, Rookie of the Year – a complete change of pace from the action movies above but what kid doesn’t dream of making it to the big time and the last addition to this list is Romeo Must Die staring Jet Li plenty of action and some awesome slightly non conventional fight scenes such as the fire hose scene.

Our next post of the week was the launch of our bitcoin competition to help promote our site and Youtube channel, if you have not subscribed to our channel do so now and you are half way to entering our competition to win 500,000 Satoshi.

The next post of the week was our brand new weekly post Blast From the Past  where we will be sharing something from our past, a memorable event that either we enjoyed or had significant meaning in our life. For the first instalment I shared 1 of many enjoyable moments from my holiday to America in 2009. This moment was when I tried indoor skydiving at Ifly Los Angles.

The week ended with the Showdown which was a nail bitter with the lead changing twice in the last minute, I am spewing I going to the game due to getting injured in game 2 of my footy comeback (I will tell you about this over the next few days, sitting for to long at once hurts at the moment). Kieran took some great footage of the game be sure to check it out.

The final post of the week was a quick Mothers Day tribute to all the mums out there who mean so much to us as they constantly give so much, my kids spoilt my wife they had some really cool things for her so it was a good day in our house. At the same time I missed my mum and due to struggling to walk or drive wasn’t able to get to the cemetery to say hi to her.

Hope you had a good week and hope to see you back here again soon.

Weekly Wrap 28th April 2018

Even though this week was a short week at work it felt like a long one, getting back into the work groove after a few weeks off was tough, that being said I still made time to get on Mates Madness early in the week to share another of the videos taken whilst I was in Melbourne on my family holiday. Check out the active animals at the Melbourne Zoo.

Kieran shared his overall Batman collection, there is some pretty cool stuff there. Do you guys have a favourite from his current Batman Collection

Kieran and I also conducted a little bit of mad science (see the pun, Mates Madness) we dropped a whole heap of different lollies into Coca Cola (Coke) to check out the different reactions so pretty cool and some were fizzers.

As mentioned above it was short work week with Anzac Day falling mid week on a Wednesday, Lest We Forget. A day of acknowledgement of a fallen soldiers a day where we reflect on the significant sacrifices made by the Australian and New Zealand soldiers to enable us to have the life that we have today.

Mates Madness launched a new app and probably the best app that we have made so far Astronaut Space Walk a flappy bird clone but instead of an Astronaut dodging Super Mario style tubes you guide an Astronaut between the satellites on his space walk, its no where near as easy as it looks.

Kieran shared his AFL fantasy team and explained some of his reasons behind his selections and his lack of trades, personally with Ablett being injured for a few weeks now I would have traded him out or at least moved him to the bench, there are also some really good new players in the AFL system this year getting games already so I have made some changes to my bench players before prices went up and grabbed some really good bargains on those players but its looks like he has missed out on that.

That’s where the site but not where my week ended, Friday afternoon I found out one of the guys who works at my youngest daughters child care plays footy and his team the Modbury Hawks forfeited the week before because they were short of players. I have not played football (Aussies Rules) in 8-9 years about this time every year I get itchy feet and consider going back out to play somewhere. This information about Modbury has given me itchy feet. Modbury’s ground is only 5 minutes from home and they are also the Hawks which is a big selling point for me. The team he plays in is the D grade so the bottom end competition and considering how long its been since I have played and how unfit I am its the perfect place for me to have a go. Yesterday to help me decide I went out to watch the team play (the C grade had a bye so a few players dropped down for the day giving the them a full side). The team looks good there are a few good players and also a few not so good players who are just out there to have a bit of fun like what I am thinking of doing. This is encouraging for me because it means I wont look out of place while I find a bit of fitness and allowing my skill level to gradually improve over the course of the season. So I have something to think about, if I am going to play I need to make a decision by Wednesday as I will need to go buy some boots and stuff and train and meet the team Thursday night to give me a shot at playing this coming weekend. I will keep you updated with my decision and if I decide to play I will try to arrange either Kieran or someone else to come watch to try to capture some footage of how I go.

Thats a wrap folks

Matt

Weekly Wrap 22nd April 2018

A more up beat week over the last 7 days, a few shares from my holiday last weekend (more to come next week). The first was my footy footage of the Hawks V Melbourne

A great game to watch all be it freezing cold, even Iron Man made and appearance to promote an  Avengers event in Melbourne. Throughout the rest of the week to be honest I lazed around trying to relax and enjoy the the rest of my holidays from work which didn’t quite go to plan with plenty of house work needing to be done.

I also shared with you all footage from Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium a place my girls aged 6 and 3 loved there was so many different marine animals to see and the tanks were fantastic you got a great view of most of them, Laila my eldest loved the penguins but there were plenty of other fish to see

We would love for you to subscribe to our you tube channel, Kieran got a hair cut and showed us his new do he was also quite excited when his team Geelong got up over Port Adelaide

Something we didn’t discuss here on the Mates Madness website but was a pretty big effort in sport (shared on our twitter account) was Oakland A’s left handed pitching pitching the first no hitter of the 2018 MLB season and the first for the Boston no hit game for the Boston Red Sox since Aprill 22 1993 25 years ago.

So if you have not done so follow us on Twitter, subscribe to our You Tube channel and share this post on your socials and any other post here on Mates Madness that you enjoy.

Weekly Wrap 16th April 2018

Well another week has come to and end all be it a quiet week here on Mates Madness so its time for the weekly wrap. The week started on the site with me filming myself trying to throw a double something I clearly suck at (check out the video and post here). From there Kieran showed the darts he is currently using, much better than the cheap stuff I am currently throwing.

From there I pretty much left on a short get away with my family, spent the whole first day on the road so didn’t get to see or do to much left at 7am  and arrived between 5 and 6pm. There were a few playgrounds along the way which we stopped for the girls to play on so they got through the drive ok. Whilst away in Melbourne we did a fair bit of walking across the three days (usually an easy time to get active). I was hoping to get in at least 10k steps each of those 3 days, I feel short 1 day but far exceeded that target on day 3. On my getting active post I mentioned my Fitbit that I started wearing again but the short holiday reminded me why I stopped wearing it, SHORT Battery life, it should be getting 5 days and barely got me through 3. Check out the below screen shots from my Iphone across the 3 days, As you can see I smashed the goal as a whole just with days 1 and 3 and had a bit of a lean day on day 2 in comparison,

I’m not going to go into to much about where we visited as I have a few videos to upload and share with you all over the next week or so, so your just going to just have to wait in suspense and see.

Kieran closed out the week with some new about about Cricket Australia’s new broadcast deal with Channel 7 and Foxtel its a great money earner for Cricket Australia, but to lose ODI’s and IT20’s on free to air isn’t great for the game in my opinion, crowds have already dropped for ODI’s and now the viewing with drop as well putting the game in real doubt over the next 5 years, I would suggest the fixture will flip in that period from and 5-10 game ODI series/Tri Series and 3 IT20’s to 3ODI’s and a 5-10 game IT20 series/Tri Series. I guess only time will tell

All going well the next week should make up for the lean week in the way of content as I share with you some of the places I visited in Melbourne including a few short videos.

That’s the weekly wrap

Matt

Weekly Wrap 8th April 2018

Another week is coming to close and its been a bit of a tough week for the Mates Madness team which is clearly evident by some of the content shared here this week. For me personally it was the last week of work prior to going on annual leave so each day I started to go more and more into holiday mode as a result getting out of bed in the morning got harder and harder. Now finally I have a few days at home then off interstate to Melbourne for a few days for a quick family get away, Whilst I there I will try to share what we get up to with you all. Damo had his own challenges which he has been going through for some time and more than likely some of that stuff will continue for some time but he will get through it. Kieran opened up and shared some of his struggles with losing weight and just how hard day to day life can be, I know much of the inspiration for this post comes from the tough time he and his family have had over the past 4 or so months. Kieran makes a great point in that post about how important it is to ask the people in your life especially your mates ARE YOU OK?

We ended the week with a day out at the footy followed by a few Jacks and Coke then catching up with Damo for a bite to each and talk crap for a while we did take a quick bit of pregame footage from the footy and added to our Youtube channel.

From an income point of view our passive income streams are yet to kick in really with know new apps uploaded to the play store, check out our games currently on the play store here. With only a few new downloads and and know clicks both in app and on this site all income came from impressions and was only 1 cent down from the 17 cents earnt last week. That is ok though we know this is a long term strategy we are not expecting to become overnight millionaires on anything like that. If you do download any of our games though we would love to get some feedback from you by way of a review and comments here on Mates Madness.

Hopefully the next week is a bit more up beat for everyone and I manage to get my old Android phone charging so I am able to take some screen shots of new apps to enable me to get them up on the play store.

Until next time

Matt

Weekly Wrap

Well another week has come to close pretty much our first full week on the new relaunched Mates Madness, so I thought I we would start providing a bit of a weekly wrap up of what go on.

This week as you have seen we launched some app on the Play Store Match 3 World Edition being the first and in the end 5 more went up. To this point they have note been very successful having a combined total of 8 downloads from the Play Store. From an income point of view we made a little 17 cents with over 1000 impressions and 1 click which is start but still shows we have a long way to go.

Traffic here at Mates Madness has doubled to up to 50 hits per day already which is a great sign, to keep this trend going up we need your support though, please share any content on your socials that you find interesting or that you think someone you know will enjoy.

We have also launched Bidvertiser adds here on Mate Madness as these were only just put in place late in the week we have only generated just over 100 impressions and as a result no income that is showing up at this point. I am not fan at the moment of Bidvertiser due to there reporting but with the site being new and limited traffic we think they are a good starting point but will be working towards Adsense integration.

Around the world of sport the NBL here in Australia came to a close with Melbourne winning the championship beating Adelaide in game 5 check out some stats here on Kieran’s post. I didn’t watch the game so I cant comment on what let Adelaide down or Melbourne did well but the home court advantage over there has really helped Melbourne over Adelaide this year.

While that game was going on Damo came over and we gave my new darts setup its first real workout which was good but I just need to learn to hit those doubles I was in winning positions all 3 games of 501 and only took out the first game after that I could hit a double in probably something like 30+ tries to win. Maybe today I might practice throwing at doubles I mean it cant hurt considering I need to them to win and I hate losing.

So for the weekly wrap that’s pretty much it, moving forward for the week ahead (a short week at work) I am hoping to get up on the play store and 3-5 apps and at least that much content on here for you all to check out.

Cheers

Matt
