Where do you get your motivation from, your inspiration from, the drive to keep going to achieve your goals, to even know that your goals are possible. With so many fraudulent so called experts out there who really are just trying to push there affiliate links onto you where do you start? Whose email lists do you join for genuine help instead of just a regular email of buy this it will change your life. Below I’m going to share with you my top sites/podcasts that I listen to for online guidance to help build my online presence covering this site, the next projects in the background and our android apps.
For me the number site I get confidence in the fact that I can succeed online is Smart Passive Income Pat Flynn and his team are great that let you know that anything is possible online and then set out to provide you with the tools and proof that it can be done. That other big draw card for me about SPI and Pat is the fact that although he emphasises hard work is required he isn’t telling you on his site or podcasts to not sleep and work through the night or miss out on time with the family. In fact Pat is about the opposite family time is important to him he is always letting us know little things he is doing to keep himself healthy so for me this makes SPI and Ask Pat even more valuable resources to me. If you have not heard Pat’s podcasts I highly recommend them. How Transparent Pat is with everything he tells you is really comforting at know point do you feel like you are being pushed in one direction or hustled like you can feel from some of the other helpful entrepreneurs out there, Pats income reports show you both how much you can make but also how much he actually spends each month to make that kind of money.
Now to go one from 1 extreme to the other, another great example for me that anything is possible is Dude Perfect. These guys show you that with hard work anything is possible and that you can make money and have a whole heap of fun doing it. The reach and the variety of audience these guys have is phenomenal check out some of the quotes on there press page to see what I mean. The Dude Perfect You tube channel is incredible the hours of practice and filming that must put into each video would be insane. Dude Perfect have grown on there success to the point where they have there own merch line, can you imagine the feeling these guys would have gotten the first time they saw a fan wearing there clothes. I would love to here about all of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on the planning the failures potentially even injuries from some of the stunts they do. Maybe Pat Flynn could interview them for SPI… Check out the first Dude Perfect video below to see how far they have come
Another podcast that I like to listen to is the daily Marketing School Podcast with Neil Patel and Eric Siu, The thing I like about this is hearing the different opinions or preferred methods of both guys. The topics covered and advice given varies from whats need for beginners to information that will even benefit a long term internet entrepreneur. There is a whole heap of great information is short spaces of time and I mean who cant find 5 minutes each day to learn and develop themselves.
As mentioned above I stay away from the so called guru’s who tell you to work through the night, that whilst you are sleeping other people are making money. I don’t see the point in working hard to make a living if my health is going to suffer potentially for the long term and a result I’m not able to benefit from it later. The next thing many of these so called guru’s tell you is concentrate on work and there will be time for family later when you can kick back and relax when the money has come in. What they don’t tell you is that if you push people away they may not be there when you are ready for them so keep that in mind. If you don’t have the people around you that matter will the success be worth it, will it be as sweet celebrating by yourself.
Anyway check out the above mentioned sites they have been a big driving help for me Pat Flynn also has some really great guests that he interviews in his SPI Podcast many of them are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
At some point in the future once our apps are up and running nicely and we this site ticking along well I would love to setup a podcast and I so I am sure that I will be following Pats Advice on this

I hear so many people complain something has not happened in there life or that they want something to happen in the future but then they do nothing to make it happen. They sit back and wait for it to magically happen or for someone else to make it happen for them.
One of my old bosses and mentors says “if nothing changes nothing changes”. Think about that saying for a minute do you get it, does it make sense to you. For me it’s saying if you don’t change something nothing changes, change starts with you. If you want a certain result you need to make a change in your actions to drive that change. You control your future, your actions have a significant impact on your outcome. Now I admit some things are out of your control but that is not a reason to concede defeat and put no effort in. In fact it is exactly the opposite it is a reason to work harder to focus on what you can control and control it to drive your desired outcome.
Think about the thing in your life that you want to change the outcomes that you want to achieve. Rate them in level of importance and urgency. Now that you have done that have another look thinking about flow on effect many people miss this but in some occasions completing one goal before another can make future goals easier, is this the case for you?
Now you have those desired outcomes in a solid order plan out the actions required to achieve the first two. Figure out the changes you need to make to complete the desired actions and put timelines to them to hold yourself accountable. Where possible I recommend sharing these goals with a mate someone that with help hold you to account someone to celebrate your successes with when you achieved your desired outcomes. If your desired outcomes/timeframes are so way out establishing mini/minor goals along the way can be really beneficial to aid you in seeing progress along the journey. For many people especially myself seeing progress along the way is vitally important as it let she me know I am on the right track I am achieving something I am getting results for all my hard work. So remember if nothing changes nothing changes so make some changes in your life for the better, control your future.

There are a number of things that frustrate me in life at the moment but my number one complaint at the moment is people not taking accountability. All day at work at the moment I hear “it wasn’t me” or “it’s not my job” sometimes it “I don’t know how” even though it’s been part of there job for 12 months or more. This infuriates me, it just shows how lazy some people are that they are so willing to let other people do there jobs for them that they are happy to be part of a team but not be a team player.
I think we should all take pride in our jobs whatever it is, hold ourselves accountable to perform that job to the standard required and realise that the way we do our job, our actions effect other people.
I believe that to do a process correct its best to understand the importance of the process, what the consequences of the process not being done or being done right.
Lets take Mates Madness as an example, if Kieran or I don’t add content content people stop coming back and overtime Google indexes us lower in searches. On the opposite side if we add regular quality content people come back to check for new content, they potentially share our content on there socials and drive other people to our site to see our content. Taking pride in our site taking accountability in the fact the site relies on us regularly adding new content to succeed is what will drive us to achieve outback goals.
Think about what you need to take some accountability in from your day to day life to improve. Think about how your part of of the process effects others and you can do it better. From there set yourself some structure, create some goals to allow yourself to hit the targets required of you. Ensure your goals are not capped at just what is required though stretch yourself, have secondary and other additional goals beyond the minimum requirements. Work with the people around you to share your knowledge and learn from them to allow you all to become stronger and smarter together.
This site was originally designed for everyone to know they have mates to know your a re not alone there are other people out there that share some of your interests your ideas and frustrations. So a small part of that I am asking you to hold yourself to account not just for you but for your mates, your friends your family, your work mates and everyone else in your life. The harder you work for others the more others will be there to support you in your time of need. These people may not always be the person you expect but I can tell you it will be someone who has your respect.

Getting active whilst away from home is generally much easier, there is plenty to do in such a short space of time. Plenty of walking between places lots of walking around the places you visit such as local attractions, through new shopping precients or centres.
On my first day I finally started wearing my fitbit again because I need to get active I need to lose a few KG’s and there is better time to focus on getting active then whilst on holidays and eating crap most of the time. I cracked my 10,000 step goal on the first day and I now have 3 days to go. Ill keep you updated with the daily step count whilst away and try to come up with a plan to crack the 10k step mark each day when I get home.
Also over the next few days I will try to add a few posts and videos covering some of the places we visit. If not as soon as I get home I will get up some videos and stuff

Another week is coming to close and its been a bit of a tough week for the Mates Madness team which is clearly evident by some of the content shared here this week. For me personally it was the last week of work prior to going on annual leave so each day I started to go more and more into holiday mode as a result getting out of bed in the morning got harder and harder. Now finally I have a few days at home then off interstate to Melbourne for a few days for a quick family get away, Whilst I there I will try to share what we get up to with you all. Damo had his own challenges which he has been going through for some time and more than likely some of that stuff will continue for some time but he will get through it. Kieran opened up and shared some of his struggles with losing weight and just how hard day to day life can be, I know much of the inspiration for this post comes from the tough time he and his family have had over the past 4 or so months. Kieran makes a great point in that post about how important it is to ask the people in your life especially your mates ARE YOU OK?
We ended the week with a day out at the footy followed by a few Jacks and Coke then catching up with Damo for a bite to each and talk crap for a while we did take a quick bit of pregame footage from the footy and added to our Youtube channel.
From an income point of view our passive income streams are yet to kick in really with know new apps uploaded to the play store, check out our games currently on the play store here. With only a few new downloads and and know clicks both in app and on this site all income came from impressions and was only 1 cent down from the 17 cents earnt last week. That is ok though we know this is a long term strategy we are not expecting to become overnight millionaires on anything like that. If you do download any of our games though we would love to get some feedback from you by way of a review and comments here on Mates Madness.
Hopefully the next week is a bit more up beat for everyone and I manage to get my old Android phone charging so I am able to take some screen shots of new apps to enable me to get them up on the play store.

Living day to day if hard for some people they might look or seem fine when you see them or speak to them, but you don’t actually know how they are really feeling they could seem very happy when you speaking to them but deep down they could be feeling very sad and putting on that happy smile and act, you think this person is very happy and then you walk away and somebody else comes and speaks to them and they might be very sad to them and you think they were so happy speaking to me what has happen in that very short amount of time from speaking to me and to this other person.
so you could look at somebody and they are acting so happy but you don’t know what they are actually dealing with deep down they could have lost a family member recently or are dealing with depression you cant just think this person is always happy when they could be dealing with something to big. Its like that old saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”.
If everybody in the world could just stop for 1 minute out of there day to just ask somebody how they are feeling it could lift their spirits and they would think that a person is so caring that they can ask me how I am going it takes 5 seconds just to ask somebody how they are going that’s all it takes. So why not next time you see somebody just ask them how they are going you might just make their day and they will be so much happier for the rest of the day because you have just asked them how they were going.
In Australia we have a day just to ask people are you ok because of how many people were committing or trying to commit suicide and by you or somebody asking those three little words it can stop somebody trying to commit suicide. So that help to be just asking those three little words it can stop or hopefully stop somebody trying to commit suicide.

Losing weight is one of the hardest things for some people to do as I have realised recently but I have found some small ways to help me and they will hopefully help you guys aswell.
Portion control is a major one that I have found it means you don’t need to stop eating chips and anything sweet it just means you need to cut it down to at least 10 chips instead of half a packet or one chocolate instead of 5 also if your drink soft drinks instead of having a couple of glass a day or a couple cans try cutting it down to at least half a glass a day or one can.
another one I have found is just getting up from sitting down doing something on my computer to go for a quick walk to get you off the computer because I realised after siting at my computer for a long time I start to see stars and feel dizzy because of siting and looking at a screen for to long.
Another one to help which is one most people will know is exercising but some people find it hard next time you try to exercise try doing with some friends that are also exercising it will help you probably go longer then just doing by yourself and who wants to exercise by themselves you will start exercising and after about 10 to 15 minutes your going to say to yourself why am I doing this but if you exercise with friends you will go longer because they will hopefully motivative you to do what exercise you are doing.
While you are exercising try to take a 3 to 5 minute brake every half an hour from doing anything hard but try to keep your heart rate up by just walking around if you don’t walk around and keep your heart rate up, when you get back to doing exercise after you brake you are going to feel like not doing it but if you keep your heart rate up it will help you get back to doing the exercise easier.
Just remember your not alone there are more people out in the world just like you trying to lose weight so if we all join together we will all be able to lose weight together. So lets get this started and help each other. Getting out of bed in the morning can be one of the hardest things to do especially mentally, when things are not going your way day to day many people lay there dreading going through it all over again so I thought that I would give some tips for people to work through to see if any of them work for them.
In a large percentage of cases the thing you are dreading is work related so lets focus on that in this post, lets look at getting you out of bed in the morning and off to work.
The first thing is you need to ensure your mind set right, understand why you are going to work, to pay the bills, put a roof over your head, feed yourself and family. As a result try to look at work as a positive there are many people out there that don’t have a job and those simple tasks become much harder. The next thing is remember there are not many people in this world that have a job that good they live to work, most of us work to live. As a result set goals to make sure you reward yourself foe your hard work, set small goals to give yourself regular reward but also set a large goal something to work towards, something to strive for something that when you finally achieve will give you a real sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. If hitting that goal and giving yourself that reward does not give you that feeling you probably didn’t set the right goal or didn’t make the most out of your reward.
The small goes must also be celebrated because something two years away isn’t great motivation to get up today, small steps.
The next tip is know you create your own destiny, you get out what you put in. Your life is not planned out for you, you decide what happens when it happens or at the least have a very big say in it. So if you want something to happen stop talking about it stop complaining about it not happening and work hard to make it happen. YOU CAN DO IT you just need to push yourself to make sure getting of bed. It all starts with you.
