Everyone with the Australian GP this weekend and the first time the supercars will be going for Championship points. I thought I will talk about my experience at the Adelaide 500. It was the 20th anniversary of the event and was only my second ever time going to the event. I bought a four-day pass so I would get a better chance at seeing drivers or other categories that would happen over the weekend.
On the Thursday I thought I would spend most of my time just walking around seeing if I could get some photos with drivers or cars that were on display I first found the 20 years of cars display which it was showing 20 cars that have raced around on the circuit you can see some of the cars down below cars that have raced around the circuit some of the cars even won one or a couple of races on the circuit
After I look at the 20 years of cars display I walk and got a pit paddock pass which means ii could get into the pit paddock to look in the garages of all the teams that are racing I thought this would be my best chance of getting photos of some drivers. I was only able to get a couple of drivers on the Thursday which were Rick Kelly, Andre heimgartner, Nick Percat and David Reynolds. And the pictures of me with them are below
So, after that I went and took a look at where I was seating and the Porsche Carrera cup was about to come on, I was very happy for that because that is one of my favourite support categories I thought this would be a good chance of getting a picture of where I was sitting and how close I could see the cars on track.
My Friday was a little bit different because I already bought my pit paddock pass I thought I would go straight to the pit paddock and see if I could get anymore photos of drivers of media personality I saw Roland Dane which is the team Principle for the Triple 888 race engineering team which holds the Red Bull Holden Racing team and Autobarn Lowndes racing. So, I thought this would be a good chance at getting a photo with and he was so nice that he said yeah.
I walked down farther in the pit paddock and saw Garry Rogers I asked him if I could get a photo and he said yeah it was his first photo of the new supercars season so I was very happy that I asked him for the photo.
After that I continued more up the pit paddock and Erebus Motorsport had displayed the Peter Brock trophy because they won the Bathurst 1000 the previous season and I took a photo of that because I had never seen the trophy up close the reason it was there is because Peter Brock was a man of the people and they wanted all the fans of the sport that are going to the events this year to see the trophy which they are taking to every event for the fans to see it up close.
why I was taking a photo of the trophy I saw Matt white which is a tv presenter for Channel ten which was broadcasting the event and I asked if I could grab a quick photo and he said yes. I was very happy with that being my third photo of the day and I had only been there for an hour.
When I was walking back down the pit paddock I saw Craig Lowndes and I got my phone ready to get my photo with him and I did he was very happy to meet me because I was wearing his team shirt and it was his first photo of the day from one of his fans.
After I finished taking my photo with him I saw Jamie Whincup and I just asked him if I could get a quick photo and he said sure thing.
I just walked down the pit paddock again to see if I could get any more photos with drivers I wasn’t able to because some were in the garage looking at how the cars were for practise and then I saw Greg Murphy which is an ex-driver but now a pit presenter for fox sports I asked if I could get his photo and he said sure.
Whem I was walking to go to my seat I saw Scott McLaughlin then I saw Dick Johnson and then Fabian Coulthard. Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard drive in the DJR team Pensike team with Dick Johnson being the team Principle
After I got back to my seat I just watch the support categories for the rest of the day.
On the Saturday I thought I could go see if I could try and get some more photos with some drivers and I was luckily to meet Michael Caruso and then I saw Chaz Mostert and I got a photo which each of them.
When I was just walk back down to my seat I thought I would look at the red bull team merchandise tent which is next to the Autobarn Lowndes racing team tent and I saw Shane van Gisbergen
There was not much else I did on Saturday I just watch all the support Categories and the first race of the new Supercars season, which was won by Shane van Gisbergen.
The final day of the Adelaide 500 was good aswell I got there early to see some other things I hadn’t in the previous day when I got there the were just opening the tent where the Hot rods were for the driver parade and I got a photo of all of them I was happy looking at these cars because you don’t see them on the road anymore.
