When I was in the USA quite a few years ago now 2009 I think it was we spent a week in New York, we did a tour of Madison Square Garden and took in a Baseball game a Yankee Stadium. It was an awesome week and I would go again tomorrow if I could.
This was also before I started getting sea/boat sick so taking the ferry over to liberty island and a scenic cruise around Manhattan was no issue at all, in addition to the cruise we also took a scenic helicopter flight around the city, most of the footage shot is below.
Over the last few days I have been using a demo account with a couple of Forex traders to test a couple different strategies, copy trading and the use of EA’s (expert advisor) I am still getting my head around the different settings that you can adjust on the EA and how they will effect my trading results.
I have had some very good trading results using the social trading method where by the system automatically copies a trader that I have set, some traders and EA’s charge a fee for there service but there are also a number of free services out there to get you started. be careful with the free services as most of them focus on one or two pairs and may only buy or sell.
The way I am looking at this is that if I was to go out and have a night at a blackjack table I could drop $100 and maybe $50 on roulette or the pokies (slot machines) so why not give trading a go and spend the night at home instead. On the flip side I am also looking at the possibility of opening an affiliate account with a couple of these traders to potentially increase my earnings even more. The question from there is how would I spend my affiliate income, do I reinvest into trading or spend it elsewhere?
Over the next couple of days I will open a real account and start trading I will keep you all up to date with the results
So recently I have been a whole let less motivated than normal as you can see here on Mates Madness I have been a whole lot less active putting up little to no posts over the last few weeks, I am constantly feeling tired and run down I put it down to just trying to do to much I have been pretty go go go over the 8 weeks with working all day then picking up my girls, getting dinner ready trying to do some work on this site and other online projects and then repeat, on the weekends I have been working on the 3 different projects I have going on in my front and back yards leaving little to no time to rest and recharge.
I am keen to do as much as possible myself for a number of reasons, its great to look at the finished product and know I did that or I at least helped do that. The second one being do it yourself (DIY) is a whole cheaper which leaves me more money to either enjoy life start another project outdoors or invest online in a possible opportunity. The 3rd reason I need to exercise the more I don’t get any exercise the lazier and less energetic I seem to feel. That being said with being more active comes the need for more time to recharge especially at the start and that is what I am struggling with.
In addition to this work seems to have stagnated, both in my day job and here on the site both are lacking progression, visitors here have not grown and are not staying longer and at work the next step of advancement is not really there. In both cases I need to have a hard look to find the drive to push myself to succeed. Here on Mates Madness alot of the drive went when our App developer account was cancelled, the apps were really starting to take off and get some downloads and then over night it was all gone without even a chance to fix it. At work the next job the next promotion just doesn’t seem to be insight, the targets I have rest heavily on the shoulders of other peoples input and they just don’t seem to be up to the task which is of course very frustrating.
Its time to get back to basics little goals, 1 step at a time sort out my motivational issues pick some goals and put my head down and work hard towards them but first of all step 1 take a few days to relax and recharge go on a bit of a go slow for a few days and try to kick back and relax as much as possible and then go from there.
Well its been a busy week which is a good and a bad thing, some days I was up and about constantly and getting good step counts and few others I was flat out at my desk working.
After the big weekend prior to this day moving a whole heap of dirt and stuff the Monday was a real recovery day taking it easy letting the back and legs recover and as a result the step count shows
Tuesday though I was straight back at it taking a couple of long walks throughout the day to ensure that I 10k steps goal not just that though I had green across the board with all goals hit
Another green across the board day, if I didn’t hit all green this day I would have been really disappointed as I spent a number of solid hours working preparing stuff in my front yard
another strong result here starting to show some real consistency now, getting really active with a few strong step count results in a row its a pity its all down hill from here for the rest of the week
The last 2 days of the week left a lot to be desired failing to see green in either day in the Fitbit App, at the current time I have also only lost 1 kg, its time to push harder and clear all the yard work that needs to be done across the front and the back yards to free up some time for proper exercise. The next big thing for me to tackle is meal sizes I know today I went way to big with my lunch so portion control is going to be important moving forward if I want to start seeing results on the scales
I am considering Forex Trading using algorithms based on past history to place automated trades, this is all new to me but with there being a whole heap of information out there and some really positive reviews out there I figure it would be worth giving it a go. My plan is start/risk a very small balance so to find a broker with a minimum deposit of $100 and just trade with that and let my balance and as a result trade amounts and profits grow. Should this plan work I would be looking to not touch any profit from forex trading for the next 6-9 months to hopefully have me earning a solid 1-2k per week if not more.
They both have their pros and cons I was originally going to go with HQbroker I created an account and have been waiting for over a week for one of there experienced brokers to call me to walk me with through how to setup the automated trading. I have contacted there customer service 4 times and keep getting told they will call but I have had no call yet just to be told they are backed up at the moment.
Avatrade look really good but they do not provide you with the algorithm you have to find or develop your own which is a major thing for me, that being said though they do have copy trade option where you can select from a number of real life traders and have there trades copied live. Avatrade is also a whole lot more regulated which is very appealing to me. I guess I will do a little more research to see which one I go with or potentially even find a 3rd company to add to my forex trading list
If you have any suggestions or tips for me here I would love to hear them as I am keen to give forex trading a go very soon
Its been a long week, I have spent most of the week working in my front and backyards getting the backyard ready for my girls to run around in and preparing my front yard for a garden bed and a second driveway put in to stop me from needing to park on the dirt/mud. Its been a whole heap of work, with the help of Kieran we have carried almost two tonnes of loam to the backyard still with about a tonne to go. The two tonnes out the back have no been spread out a ruffly compacted by the girls running all over it. There is still about a third of the back yard to be covered which will hopefully be covered with the remaining tonne of loam out the front.
In addition to this with the help of a mate form work we got the posts in the ground for our retaining wall and went to pick sleepers earlier today, it looks like we are going to get a stacked stone type look retaining wall sleeper. All of this work though in the yard is going to be well worth as discussed in previous posts I definitely need the exercise and I am also saving a whole heap of money by doing as much as possible myself with the help of a few mates. In addition to this I have been keeping up my daily walks at work each day but with the rain most days recently it has been hard to crack the 10k mark each day. I will do a fitness update post sometime over the next day or so to share my progress with you all.
In regards to Mates Madness the changes to site made a few weeks back and we are slowly increasing in traffic both from organic and social referrals so thank you all for sharing our content and directing you family and friends to check us out. As part of the long week I have also got up to a few other things which I will share will in due time so stay tunned.
Well its been a crazy few days, along day at work Friday where I took a short lunch time walk and then created a whole heap of short 10 minute walks throughout the day, which was great to get me close to that 10k goal (which I fell short of) but it also made my day at work that bit longer which was a little frustrating. You can see from the screenshot from my phone I got with 900 steps 440 metres of my goal and hit the 3k calorie goal which is great from a weight loss point of view.
From there Saturday was huge with my football comeback being over for the time being with the D grade team being pulled from the comp due to a lack of player numbers as a result of injuries such as my hamstring I decided to start the morning with a walk/run. The running didn’t get me very far and showed just how unfit I am, I think I lasted about 2-3 mins which is pathetic but its a base to build up from I guess. All up I walked for just over an hour which put me on about 8,000 steps and it was only about 11am great start to the day. From there I took both my girls for short individual walks and by the time that was done I was at over 10k and I hadn’t even had lunch. From there that is where the fun begins I purchased 3 tonnes of loam for my backyard, sounds simple right get a wheel barrow and move it down to the backyard not easy but not hard. That would have been great except I have a split level home which makes a wheel barrow very difficult to use. from there my walk ways around my house are very narrow once you take into account the window seals and air conditioner unit so by the bucket load it is. after almost 2 hours of filling bucket loads and walking them the 30 metres down the backyard up and down the stairs I was spent and had only made a small dent in the 3 tonne loam pile but the Fitbit results speak for themselves
Sunday more loam to move, a big thanks to Kieran for coming to help for 3-4 hours helping me move just half the pile of loam getting a nice loam layer over about 60% of my backyard, more up and down the stairs but the killer for me that day was my sloped driveway after a few hours that 4-5 metre driveway felt like it went for about 20 metres the legs, especially the ankles could really feel it and are still feeling it today but the job was getting done I was saving money and getting a whole heap of much needed exercise. From there on the drive to drop Kieran home we stopped and smashed out some Pokemon Go raids and hit a whole heap of Poke stops and catching a few Pokemon.
I am taking it easy today due to some serious ankle soreness before planning to spend another couple of hours moving loam tomorrow afternoon after work before the rain hits in the coming days.
As you know my goal is to long term make a living on line which many people do it just takes a whole heap of hard work initially. For this site we currently have adsense which is earning us a few cents a day and on a good day upwards of a whole dollar. Income generation and ideally a passive income at that is a huge goal here and a result a big focus for me
We are working hard to be able to monetize out Youtube channel but we still need another 800 + subscribers to get to that point so it is some ways off. We are starting to discuss creating some original content and also potentially giving the channel some focus as with the website here it is all very general at the moment.
We are looking into affiliate marketing and are not far away from adding some links into posts but once again we need more traffic to make this a viable option
We had uploaded a number of Android apps to the playstore until our developer account was terminated for breaching policies. No information provided on how we breached or warnings given just an email to say it was terminated and do not create another one or we will terminate that account as well so back to the drawing board there.
Other options being considered are Daily Motion which appears to have little to no minimum requirements to be able to monetize your account. That being said it doesn’t have no where near the traffic or the interaction that you tube does so it may interesting to compare running the two side by side.
We are also considering starting a go fund me campaign to raise some money for the upcoming yearly hosting bill and to purchase some new equipment to help us film videos or maybe start a podcast. Do you think people would contribute?
At the moment the focus is on driving traffic from as many places as possible, a big focus is social networks. So posting our links there, encouraging our readers to like and share our content. In addition to that new auto ping info has been added to the site to let search engines know anytime we have new content to get us indexed faster and by more places. We are also placing a significant amount of effort in commenting on other websites to get our name out there more. I am also looking for some guest contributers to write a post or two here on Mates Madness to improve our reach into other social groups.
We are also spending some turning joining Facebook groups and alike for tips and ideas to help improve us. I recently came across Shout Me Loud which has been a great help in regards to getting tips to improve Mates Madness and also guide Kieran and myself in the right direction. I still have plenty or articles to read but I will be definitely spending a fair bit more time on the Shout Me Loud website over the coming weeks and months. If you have a blog or thinking about building one check them out.
Over the next few weeks you may notice some changes to the site as we work to optimize it to improve reader experience and engagement. If you have made it this far please share this and comment below it will really help us grow.
Yesterday was a disaster day on so many fronts, my lunch time walk was shorter and slower trying to avoid shin splints, my day outside of that fairly much consisted of me sitting at a computer working. In addition to this I deviated from the no late night snack goal and smashed through half a bag of peanut M&Ms.
As you can see from my walk data it was only active minutes for the whole day which is a huge disappointment, distance is well down over the time period and as a result there was a significant drop in steps.
I fell just shy of 7,500 3/4 of the way to my daily 10k goal which as you can see means I did not even get close to the kilometres or calories side of things.
I did complete a short 5 min burst with 10kg weight but was clearly not going hard enough as it didn’t even auto recognise it as active minutes. I will need to work towards steadily increasing this over the coming days and weeks.
Only hitting 7,500 is also not good enough I need to force mysedf out of my chair and keep pushing myself to achieve more each day, without the increased workload there will be no overall benefit to my fitness and general health and well being.
All going well I should see some strong results again this weekend with there still being plenty of work to be done in both my front and back yards. I am looking at getting 2 tonne of loam dropped off which will need to be moved from the front yard to the backyard by the bucket load so that’s quite a bit of both lifting and walking ahead. That being said I cant leave it all to the weekend and must get better results again today. Prior to a Friday weigh in tomorrow.
I was just reading this article titled “A lack of compassion and a lack of understanding shown by GWS forward Jeremy Cameron” about the Cameron hit on Andrews and honestly I was astounded as to how anyone could say that they clearly have not done there research and are just trying to write click bait. I feel extremely bad Harris Andrews his family and his team mates for the situation he is currently in (laid up in hospital with a brain bleed) but what was Cameron suppose to do he was committed into his jump when Andrews went back with the flight of the ball.
Cameron did what any normal human being would do and turn his body to protect himself had he not done this we could be looking at the of the AFL’s brightest stars laid up in hospital not just one. As based on the evidence argued at Cameron’s tribunal hearing he had 6/50ths of a second to brace for contact and as a result I am unsure how this could have been ruled intentional. As much as we respect a player that goes back with the flight of the ball without a second thought some of the onus for that players protection needs to be on themselves. The only difference to this being a front on contact free kick was the split second where Cameron protected himself instead of getting his own head knocked off. To show how much the players on the ground new that there was not much Cameron could have done consider how many Brisbane players came in and remonstrated with Cameron. Anything can look bad in when replayed in slow motion, frame by frame or a still image but that is not football, its fierce and fast paced.
There could even be case made for going back with the flight of the ball to be similar to going to ground and taking a players legs both are extremely dangerous for all concerned. No I don’t agree with that rule especially when the players on the ground gets hand on the ball but I am sure you can see the similarities there.
In regards to “a lack of compassion and understanding and shown” by Cameron you have got to be kidding me right as per numerous reports “Cameron had earlier revealed that he apologised to Andrews after the game and then again the next day, saying he “felt sick” about the way things had panned out.” how is apologising more than once not showing compassion? How is going to the tribunal and accepting the hit being illegal not showing understanding he did as I am doing though argued his intentions were not intentional. The fact that people in the media and especially past players have called it a “dog act” astounds me. Those people full know how fast things in the game happen how fast players in the game move, there is a good chance Cameron didn’t even see Andrews until late as he eyes were on the incoming ball which was being kicked to him should Andrews have not been there it probably would have hit him lace out. Based on this I actually think 5 games was to extreme and was as a result of the media hype I think 2-3 more clearly reflect the accident that has occurred because it was just that an accident that happened as part of a game.
