Basketball trick shots- Video of the week

Everyone for this video of the week I have found a basketball related trick shots (HORSE) video which you should also know that me and Matt like basketball,I support the Utah jazz and he supports the New York Knicks. I think it would really funny to see us attempt some of the trick shots from the video if we do we will be sure to record it for you all.

My favourite trick shot would have to be from just outside the arc throwing the ball over their heads trying to get it in the hoop this is probably one of the trickiest shot to attempt and also get the ball in the hoop. Another shot I like is the ball bouncing once and going off the hoop and back in you see them attempt it and you can see only one of them gets it so a 25% chance of me getting it if try at least 4 times. I will try and make a video of some of these trick shots in a video and some of my own with hopefully Matt in the video aswell

Thanks for reading about this week video of the week I would to hear about what you favourite trick shot was and why it was you favourite trick shot and also if you would like to see a similar video of Matt or Myself trying to attempt these and maybe if we make a video you can recommend some trick shots you would like to me or Matt trying to attempt.

If you would like to recommend a video of the week I could watch I will take those ideas and maybe make one of them the video of the week and say in the post that you were the person to recommend the video for the video of the week.

Madame Tussauds London 2006 – Blast from the Past

In 2006 My wife Sarah and I took our first overseas holiday and visited the UK a place my wife had been wanting to go for some time at that point and to be honest London was not even in my top 5 places to visit and as a result I didn’t have high expectations for our visit to the UK. We spent the first week in London doing all of the tourist things to do. Sarah wanted to cram as much as possible into our short time there. We were go go go all day long and with us going in the middle of summer they were long days with the sun not setting until about 10pm. On one of the days there we visited the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum which was pretty cool most of the wax creations look amazing but as with anything there are a few where you sit and scratch your head going I don’t see it, it doesn’t look like that person.

You will see a range of creations that were featured in the museum at the time of our visit in the You Tube clip below. You will see me pictured with and pictures of a few deceased celebs that are definitely not my taste mainly being Elvis and John Wayne but they were both 2 of my mums favourite celebrities so I had to do it for her and to be honest those two pictures came up really well. My favourite though are probably Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, My pics with Muhammad Ali and also Tom Cruise (as mentioned in previous posts I am a huge Top Gun Fan) and the 3 super heroes I mean how good does Spiderman and the Hulk look and of course the old school Superman you can see as the thumbnail below.

Let me know your favourites or who you think doesn’t quite look right in the comments below

We have also since visited the New York Madame Tussauds where we took quite a few pictures as well and I will share that in a few weeks time for you to compare.

5 sports experiences every sports fan must experience at least once

Everyone I thought I would talk about some experiences if you’re a sports fan you should try if you’ve got the chance to do at least once.
My first experience would have to be Baseball at Yankee Stadium this is the place any New York Yankees fan or even just a baseball fan would have to go to I have never been but it’s a dream of mine to go and watch a match there you can see in the picture below of how pristine the grass and the whole place and also how far you will need to hit the ball to get a home run.

My second experience would have to be Soccer/Football at Wembley Stadium all football (soccer) fans would say this is the place to watch football and when the FA cup Tournament starts all the English teams are trying there best to get there and be able to hold up the FA cup and add it to their trophy cabinet.

My third experience would have to be Cricket at Lords it isn’t just called lords it is also the home of cricket every cricket fan and player tries to get there if you’re an Australian your best chance of probably getting there is during an ashes series of England but also the Head of Cricket works out of Lords and that is where all the current rules for cricket are made.

My fourth experience would have to be Sumo Wrestling in Japan the home of Sumo Wrestling how fast and strong these men are and how much they go through just to win a single match I’ve never been to Japan to actually see a Sumo match but I have watch some videos on them and you can see hard they go in those matches in video so I can only think of how much it would be to see it in real life.

My final experience would have to be UFC in Las Vegas the Gambling Capital of the world but also the home of the UFC you see how much a fighter puts in every day just to get ready for a fight and when the fight happens you can see how much they have put in for that fight and each fighter is trying there best to be able to get to fight for the Championship.

Thanks for reading and if you think I have left any out I would like to hear them and why you think I should have put them on this list

Top inspirational and Motivational Sites

Where do you get your motivation from, your inspiration from, the drive to keep going to achieve your goals, to even know that your goals are possible. With so many fraudulent so called experts out there who really are just trying to push there affiliate links onto you where do you start? Whose email lists do you join for genuine help instead of just a regular email of buy this it will change your life. Below I’m going to share with you my top sites/podcasts that I listen to for online guidance to help build my online presence covering this site, the next projects in the background and our android apps.

For me the number site I get confidence in the fact that I can succeed online is Smart Passive Income Pat Flynn and his team are great that let you know that anything is possible online and then set out to provide you with the tools and proof that it can be done. That other big draw card for me about SPI and Pat is the fact that although he emphasises hard work is required he isn’t telling you on his site or podcasts to not sleep and work through the night or miss out on time with the family. In fact Pat is about the opposite family time is important to him he is always letting us know little things he is doing to keep himself healthy so for me this makes SPI and Ask Pat even more valuable resources to me. If you have not heard Pat’s podcasts I highly recommend them. How Transparent Pat is with everything he tells you is really comforting at know point do you feel like you are being pushed in one direction or hustled like you can feel from some of the other helpful entrepreneurs out there, Pats income reports show you both how much you can make but also how much he actually spends each month to make that kind of money.

Now to go one from 1 extreme to the other, another great example for me that anything is possible is Dude Perfect. These guys show you that with hard work anything is possible and that you can make money and have a whole heap of fun doing it. The reach and the variety of audience these guys have is phenomenal check out some of the quotes on there press page  to see what I mean. The Dude Perfect You tube channel is incredible the hours of practice and filming that must put into each video would be insane. Dude Perfect have grown on there success to the point where they have there own merch line, can you imagine the feeling these guys would have gotten the first time they saw a fan wearing there clothes. I would love to here about all of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on the planning the failures potentially even injuries from some of the stunts they do. Maybe Pat Flynn could interview them for SPI… Check out the first Dude Perfect video below to see how far they have come

Another podcast that I like to listen to is the daily Marketing School Podcast with Neil Patel and Eric Siu, The thing I like about this is hearing the different opinions or preferred methods of both guys. The topics covered and advice given varies from whats need for beginners to information that will even benefit a long term internet entrepreneur. There is a whole heap of great information is short spaces of time and I mean who cant find 5 minutes each day to learn and develop themselves.

As mentioned above I stay away from the so called guru’s who tell you to work through the night, that whilst you are sleeping other people are making money. I don’t see the point in working hard to make a living if my health is going to suffer potentially for the long term and a result I’m not able to benefit from it later. The next thing many of these so called guru’s tell you is concentrate on work and there will be time for family later when you can kick back and relax when the money has come in. What they don’t tell you is that if you push people away they may not be there when you are ready for them so keep that in mind. If you don’t have the people around you that matter will the success be worth it, will it be as sweet celebrating by yourself.

Anyway check out the above mentioned sites they have been a big driving help for me Pat Flynn also has some really great guests that he interviews in his SPI Podcast many of them are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.

At some point in the future once our apps are up and running nicely and we this site ticking along well I would love to setup a podcast and I so I am sure that I will be following Pats Advice on this

Let me know your points of online inspiration and motivation in the comments below

Cheers

Matt

NBA Playoffs Golden State Warriors Clean Sweep Cleveland

The Golden State Warriors entered this years playoffs as reigning champions but also tying their franchise streak of 6 straight postseason appearances, in the first two rounds they went through pretty easily with 4-1 wins over both the San Antonio Spurs then the New Orleans Pelicans. Houston pushed them all the way to game 7 in the conference finals but the class that is the Golden State Warriors was to much .

The big story though is the clean sweep over Cleveland, Lebron James could not have done anymore to attempt to get Cleveland over the line but some of his team mates just didn’t look like either there heads or hearts were in the game. Maybe they know James has already made up his mind to move on from Cleveland which I personally think he has. There is lots of talk about who is better Lebron James or Michael Jordan I think this playoff series cemented it for me, Michael Jordan is by far the better team player they both have extraordinary skill but basketball is a team game and if your focus is to much on yourself and not your team you can never be the greatest. Jordan could dominate games but he could also bring the best out in his team mates consistently which is something that James cant do. In this playoff series the rest of the Cavs team went missing in some cases they may as well have been in the crowd or at home on the couch because  they were stationary on the court. If you compare that to the warriors there was always movement on the court the plays vary, the ball handler varies making playing defence a whole lot harder.

Ok to take my point about Lebron James being a big part of the reason Cleveland Cavaliers got swept I’m going to put out a few more things, Lebron James the one man offensive show, as a defence you know you can play off you man and zone a little more because considering how much he has the ball in his hands the chances of him passing are low. From there as an offence you work James over make him play defence because he regularly tries to rest on defence much to the frustration of his team. The below clip is from the 2017 playoffs

Now I am in no way saying that Lebron is not a great player he is one of the best the game has ever seen but I far from think that he is the GOAT and good luck to the team he ends up at next year, hopefully they have a whole bunch of role players/team first players around him that is when James excels the most.

Ok to finish on a high note check out the game 4 highlights featuring heavily finals MVP Kevin Durant and Steph Curry running riot.

Now I know I am by know means an NBA expert so I would love to hear the opinion of some other people out there about Lebron and does he do as much harm to his team on court against a good team as he does good for his team – Damo I’m looking at you here.

AFL Round 12 Power vs Tigers

Everyone this was a very big game for Port Adelaide in the context of the season coming up against the reigning premiers Richmond at the start of the week Richmond were the favourite for this game but after the news of Dustin Martin not playing this game the betting shifted with Port then becoming the favourites.  During the game it showed that Dusty is a key for Richmond as the Tigers looked slow and out of place in the mid field a clearly missed some of the class and space the have when Martin has ball in hand.

The first goal of the game was from Charlie Dixon getting the ball from Sam Powell-Pepper kicking it from at least the centre wing and Dixon taking on Alex Rance and pushing him out of the way to get a strong contested mark. There wasn’t much more for the first quarter with Richmond making the most of there opportunities going into quarter time with the lead.

The second Quarter started off with Jack Riewoldt kicking his second goal of the game and extending Richmond’s lead but after that Port were very good and stopped Richmond scoring power only  allowing them to kick another goal for that quarter while the Power kicked 7 making the Half time score port 9.5 (58) to Richmond 5.6 (36)

After Chad Wingard’s recent poor form over the last few weeks there was clearly a decision made for him to spend alot more time in the midfield, this appeared to do wonders for his confidence by allowing him to get his hand on the ball resulting in a game high 31 disposals. Ollie Wines  also had a very good game showing why he wants to stay at the club next year 28 disposals, 12 tackles, 10 inside 50s and seven clearances, they also got some great support with Sam Powell-Pepper also getting 28 disposals who spent quite abit of time of Trent Cotchin trying to get under his skin.
Jaspar Pittard made his return to AFL football and slotted straight back into the backline helping out with good pressure and some good intercept marks but his usual poor disposal was an issue.

With Lindsay Thomas and Jack Trengrove in good form in the SANFL there will be pressure for spots at the selection table next round with Jake Neade, Dan Houtson and Jack Watts having quiet games the will be questions asked if they are doing enough

Tom Rockliff appears to have settled into his new side and adjusting team game plans and his new team mates racking up 25 disposals making him in the top 5 of ball getters for the power.
This takes Port to 7 wins and 4 losses and gives Richmond there third loss of the season with the other two losses and the hands of Adelaide at the Adelaide oval and West Coast in round 9

If you watched the AFL Round 12 Power vs Tigers game what did you think, did you enjoy it

Who’s on First – Video of the week

Well I was sent a bit of a funny joke email today which was related back to the old Abbott and Costello classic Who’s on First, as a result I thought I would share both with so sit back relax and have a laugh at some vintage comedy before reading on to the written joke.

Hope you had a laugh at that one as many other have done over the years anyone read on to see how this might have looked in today’s digital age

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch,
“Who’s on First?” might have turned out something like this:

Costello calls to buy a computer from Abbott who works at the Super Duper Store

ABBOTT: Super Duper Computer Store. May I help you?

COSTELLO: Thanks, I’m setting up an office in my den and I’m thinking about buying a computer.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: No, the name’s Lou.

ABBOTT: Your computer?

COSTELLO: I don’t own a computer. I want to buy one.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: I told you, my name’s Lou.

ABBOTT: What about Windows?

COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?

COSTELLO: I don’t know. What will I see when I look at the windows?

ABBOTT: Wallpaper.

COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.

ABBOTT: Software for Windows?

COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?

ABBOTT: I just did.

COSTELLO: You just did what?

ABBOTT: Recommend something.

COSTELLO: You recommended something?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: For my office?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!

ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.

COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let’s just say I’m sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?

ABBOTT: Word.

COSTELLO: What word?

ABBOTT: Word in Office.

COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.

ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.

COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?

ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue ‘W’.

COSTELLO: I’m going to click your blue ‘W’ if you don’t start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: That’s right. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?

ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.

COSTELLO: What’s bundled with my computer?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?

ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.

COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?

ABBOTT: One copy.

COSTELLO: Isn’t it illegal to copy money?

ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.

COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?

ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!

(A few days later)

ABBOTT: Super Duper Computer Store. May I help you?

COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?

ABBOTT: Click on “START”…

Hope you enjoyed the joke, if you were like me you were picturing someone as the customer when reading this if you happy to comment below and share who that person was, maybe even share the post with them

Universal Stuidos – Blast from the Past

More from my America trip with my wife Sarah from almost 10 years ago now, When we were in America the first place we visited was LA, while we were there we did what most tourists do and checked out the Theme Parks and this post is dedicated to one of those very theme parks Universal Studios. We spent the whole day there arriving early in the morning and leaving in the early evening and then strolling down Universal Walk.

One of the cool attractions at the time was cars from Fast and the Furious on display naturally we took a few photos and some quick video clips

Fast and The Furious
As we most visitors to the Universal Studios theme park we took the tour around the park, we saw some awesome car specials effects and we also got the street set of one Sarah’s favourite shows at the time Desperate Housewives, Sarah was pretty excited to get a quick peak down Wisteria Lane
Some of the other exhibits around the Universal Studios theme park at the time featured movies such as Jurassic Park and the The Mummy, it was just pretty amazing though to walk around the park and try and pick out little parks of the park that had been used in movies or TV shows and there a quite a few about.

This was also the was also the same day I completed the Ifly experience mentioned in the first Blast from the Past check it out here

Spoiler Alert Disney Land coming in the next few weeks

5 of my Favourite Fast Cars

Everyone I thought I would talk about what I think are my five favourite fastest cars. Maybe you might think the same as me or you might think a car needs to be on the list. This list is no particular order but here goes my top 5 fast cars

Car number 1 on the list is the McLaren F1 it can reach a top speed of 387 KMH (241 MPH) it is also equipped with a 6.1 litre BMW M V12 engine and it produces 670 Horse Power but your all probably wondering how fast does it goes from 0 to 100 KMH it can do that in just 3.2 seconds but one of these cars sole in 2013 for $8.47 million US.

Speedster number 2 the Lamborghini Aventador the top speed record is 354 KMH (220 MPH) it can go for 0 to 100 KMH in just under 3 seconds at 2.9 if I was going to do a drag race this would probably be the car I would chose because it can a quarter mile in just 10.6 seconds the Horse Power on this car is pretty great at 690.

Sweet ride number 3 is the younger sibling of the Aston martin db9 it the Aston Martin db11 this is another car with a v12 engine it’s a 5.2 lite twin turbo v12 and the engine is called AE31 making the db11 the first ever turbocharged car Aston Martin has ever made the engine provide the car with 600 hp and it can from 0 to 100 KMH in 3.8 seconds. And it has a top speed of 322 KMH (200 MPH) and it can do a quarter mile in 11.7 second.

Insanely Fast number 4 is  Koenigsegg Agera it currently holds the world record form going to 0-400-0 KMH in just 36.44 seconds which is pretty damn fast I reckon it might take a couple of years before this record is beaten it goes form 0 to 100 in just 2.8 seconds is fitted with a 5.0 litre twin-turbo v8 engine which has 927 hp this is also a car I would like to own or at least be able to drive in the future.

Rounding out the 5 fast cars is the awesome Ferrari LaFerrari which can reach a top speed of 349 KMH (217 MPH) and go from 0 to 100 in just over 2 seconds at 2.4 also Ferrari has claimed that it can go around it Fiorano test Circuit in 1.19.70 which is faster then any of the other road legal car they have produced. It also has a 6.3 litre v12 engine and also has 799 horse power which means it has the most horsepower out all the cars that I have said are my favourite fastest cars.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it and I hope to hear about what you favourite car is on the list or ever

Until next time

Why we are raising a generation destined to fail

In today’s politically correct world it is probably as difficult as it has ever been to be raising children to succeed in life.  Almost all of the tactics used by your parents and your grandparents before them to motivate, punish or reward a child is now either frowned upon or illegal. We are raising children in age where they are always right, they can not be told no and in many cases they hold the balance of power in the parent child dynamic.

How do you now punish a child, options from years gone by such as a smack on the arse or rapp across the knuckles the knuckles are now seen as abuse. Sending the child to bed without dinner is considered as neglect and or abuse. Even raising your voice in some peoples opinions is considered as bullying or harassing your child. We are encouraged to wrap negative feedback in a sandwich of positive reinforcement or compliments. How does a child walk away from that understanding that they have done wrong. If you don’t go down that path with a young child you could take toys away or put them in a naughty corner but this method only lasts so long. Consider how many toys children have now, they soon realise they have other toys to play with. If you went with the naughty corner or time out method you can only leave the child there for a short period before people start telling you have gone to far. Can you remember being sent to your room as child it could last for hours now after 10 or so minutes that’s enough.

Consider house hold duties, how do you know get a child to contribute around the house, this used to be rewarded with pocket money which is now not possible as children are just given an allowance or get anything they want due not wanting your child to be the one bullied for not having the latest gadget or fashion. There are people out there in there teens were making toast is hard because they have never had to do it.

Lets look at a school aged child that has done poorly on an assignment, the school or parents marks them to harsh they are seen to be killing there confidence if you push hard to motivate them to do better to excel you are bullying them. If a child continually puts out bad work they suddenly have learning difficulties and a coddled and no longer pushed to try hard to improve and develop. If they don’t meet a deadline they are given extensions for the smallest reasons even if those reasons had not impact until just prior to the due date.

Almost anything these days can be twisted to poor parenting. If a child goes to run out the door and you put your hand out to stop them or grab there arm this can and has been considered abuse. Real life and practicality are not considered that parent could have potentially saved that child’s life as a car might have driven past at that time or anything could  happen but that is not what our legal system sees any longer.

Now think about how these children are growing up they have no respect for authority or there elders, they have limited sense of right and wrong, they have no understanding of discipline, they have no motivation or drive to succeed, no willingness to learn or do things for themselves. Now picture that child in employment what a shock it is to there system they suddenly need to follow instructions, work to a quality standard, hit deadlines and be accountable for there actions. Does anyone else seen eminent failure here with these restrictions how do we go about raising children to succeed…..
